It cannot be stressed enough, how important it is to only use Gas Safe Registered gas fitters and gas engineers. The cost of fixing botched jobs done by illegal gas fitters is costing customers up to £100m a year, according to Gas Safe Register. It has reported over quarter of a million jobs to be carried out illegally on an annual basis and one in five of those inspected is found to be immediately dangerous. Gas Safe Register is campaigning for customers to become more gas aware and is urging customers to check that recommended engineers have the correct qualifications to carry out the work they are doing.
